The Red Carpet Gypsies is a Gypsy jazz sextet from Springfield, Virginia. Its talented musicians include guitarists Daniel Schlobach, Stephen Wolford, and Mikiyas Negussie, as well as violinist Daniel Willson, bassist Katie Smith, and drummer Jake Reece. The Red Carpet Gypsies were formed in the fall of 2011 as an after school jazz combo directed by Keith Owens. By the summer of 2012 the band had become an independent group that gigs to this day.

Gypsy jazz was developed in the 1930-40s by European jazz guitarist Django Reinhardt and his violinist partner Stephane Grapelli. Reinhardt, a gypsy himself, fused together the flare and passion of gypsy music with Dixieland-era jazz tunes. Alongside Reinhardt, Grapelli pushed the violin past its classical and fiddle boundaries into the world of jazz improvisation. Together Reinhardt and Grapelli pioneered the unique style and sound of gypsy jazz. The Red Carpet Gypsies follow in Reinhardt and Grapelli's footsteps, playing songs from Fats Waller's "Honeysuckle Rose" to Reinhardt's own "Minor Swing".

One Day Gitane was produced by Keith Owens.
